Comoé National Park is one of the largest national parks in West Africa. It covers an area of 1,149,250 hectares in Côte d'Ivoire, and is rich in plant diversity. The Comoé river flowing through the national park allows plants that usually grow further south to be found there.

Comoé National Park was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 7th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Florence, Italy on 5-9 December, 1983.

Comoé National Park was added to the List of World Heritage in Danger in 2003 due to serious concern over the potential impacts of civil unrest on the integrity of the national park, in addition to the decrease in large mammal populations there caused by increased and uncontrolled poaching. The World Heritage Committee also pointed out the lack of effective management mechanisms to address the concerns.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
