Vanadzor (Armenian: Վանաձոր), located in Lori Province, is the third largest city in Armenia. Located in the central northern part of the country, it covers 25 sq km (9.7 sq mi), at an elevation of 1,424 m (4,674 ft).

Due to its picturesque location in the highlands, Vanadzor is often a choice location for the wealthy of Armenia to own summer homes or dachas there. Surprisingly, although it is a resort town, Vanadzor is also a base for chemical plants. These date back to the first chemical factory built there in 1929.

Vanadzor experiences a humid continental climate. August is often the warmest month, when the average high temperature rises to 23.8°C (74.8°F). Winters can be very cold. The average low temperature for January is often -18°C (-0.4°F). May is the wettest month in Vanadzor, receiving 96 mm (3.78 in) of precipitation.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
