Shek O 石澳 is a small seaside village on the southeastern part of Hong Kong Island. It is located on a headland that juts into the sea like a crooked finger. This is one of those places where time seems to have stopped. The main road to the Shek O village is Shek O road. It passes through the Shek O Golf Course, after which you can catch glimpses of the sea to your left before arriving at the village.

Shek O village is one of those gritty coastal towns in Hong Kong with tofu-shaped houses. Within the town itself are a few eateries and shops selling everyday goods. At the village centre is a roundabout where one branch leads to the Shek O Mini-golf course while the other takes you further into the village. The houses huddled tightly together, right to the edge of the road, so you shouldn't stop your car midway.

If you follow the road right to the end, you would be rewarded with a scenic view of the sea. On the south side of the beach you can see the rest of Cape D'Aguilar.

To properly explore the area, you need to drive. Alternatively take Bus No. 9 which goes between Shek O and Shau Kei Wan.
