Rantau Panjang, Kelantan

Rantau Panjang is a small town in Kelantan. It is 39 km from Kota Bharu. Rantau Panjang is one of the two main border crossing in Kelantan between Malaysia and Thailand, with the other being Pengkalan Kubor. Sungai Golok forms a natural border between the two countries. Across on the Thai side is a town also known as Sungai Golok.

Further upriver there is another border crossing on Sungai Golok. It is renamed the Friendship Bridge during a ceremony attended by the Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, the prime minister of Malaysia, and his counterpart Thai premier Abhisit Vejjajiva, on 9 December, 2009.
