Melaka Tengah District, Malacca">
Tanjung Kling is a small coastal town in Melaka Tengah District, Malacca. Its name refers to the cape jutting into the Straits of Malacca, and the name "Kling" refers to Indian seafarers who arrived there during the 15th century.

Tanjung Kling is located on the coast between Tanjung Bidara and Klebang. It has a number of beach resort taking advantage of its location, among them Everly Beach Resort, Shah's Beach Resort and Klebang Beach Resort.

Perhaps the most popular tourist sight in Tanjung Kling is the Hang Tuah Mausoleum. It is located along Jalan Pekan Tanjung 2, next to the Malay cemetery. The grave has been restored, painted, and guarded with a gate. Although it is regarded as the grave of the most celebrated warrior of the Sultanate of Malacca, in fact there is no reliable evidence that the grave is that of Hang Tuah.

Visiting Tanjung Kling

Take Federal Route 5 from Malacca Town. To reach the Hang Tuah Mausoleum, turn off Federal Route 5 to Jalan Pekan Tanjung 2 (also called State Route M23). You will see Masjid Tanjung Kling on your right. The site is just a minute or so from the mosque.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
