Kuala Rompin (GPS: 2.79902, 103.49258) is a small town in the southern part of Pahang. It marks the estuary of the meandering Rompin River, which flows there from the Endau-Rompin National Park. Most of the people here are fishermen.

For visitors to Kuala Rompin, there are a few beach resorts that operate here including Summerset Resort (Sales Office: 03-7876 5588, www.summerset.com.my) and Rompin Beach Resort (tel: 09- 414 3333, www.rbr.com.my)

Getting there

If you are from the west coast, exit the North-South Expressway at the Senawang Interchange (Exit 220). From there, take the Route 51 to Kuala Pilah. From Kuala Pilah, continue on Route 9 in the direction of Batu Kikir, then on to Route 11 and then Route 12 (away from Segamat) to Muadzam Shah. From Muadzam Shah, take Route 63 to Kuala Rompin.

If you are coming from the south, simply follow Route 3, the East Coast Trunk Road, from Johor Bahru via Kota Tinggi and Mersing, and you'll arrive at Kuala Rompin.
