Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar, PekanMuzium Sultan Abu Bakar, Pekan (30 December, 2006)

Sultan Abu Bakar Museum is a museum in Pekan, Pahang. The building faces Jalan Sultan Ahmad, looking towards Sungai Pahang. The museum provides an insight into the history of the Pahang royal house. The building that houses the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum originally housed the official residence of the British Resident of Pahang. During the Japanese Occupation, it was taken over by the Japanese troops to be used as an army barracks. Later on, it was also used as the official palace of Sultan Abu Bakar, who reigned from 1932 until 1974.

The Sultan Abu Bakar Museum was opened on 21 October, 1976, by the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, and was named in memory of his father.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
