Jalan Sultan Idris Shah (British: Brewster Road; Chinese: 波士打路; Pinyin: Bō Shì Dǎ Lù; Cantonese Jyutping romanisation: Bo1 Si6 Daa1 Lou6) is one of the main roads in Ipoh, Perak. It connects Jalan Sultan Yusuf on one end with the Jalan Sultan Nazrin Shah roundabout on the other.

Jalan Sultan Idris Shah is one of the two roads that connect Ipoh Old Town to Ipoh New Town, the other being Jalan Sultan Iskandar.

Jalan Sultan Idris Shah was originally known as Brewster Road. It was named after E. J. Brewster, the District Office of Kinta. The present name honours the late Sultan Idris Shah (1924-1984), the 33rd Sultan of Perak.

Being one of the main roads in Ipoh, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah forms junctions and intersections with many of the roads in the Old Town and New Town including Hala Timah, Jalan Laxamana, Jalan Lam Looking, Jalan Horley, Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, Jalan Dato Tahwil Azar, Jalan Raja Ekram, Jalan Jubilee, Jalan Sultan Ekhram, Persiaran Greenhill, Jalan Church and Lorong Menteri.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
