Manjung District

Manjung is a coastal district of Perak. It was formerly known as Dinding, and was once a settlement within the Straits Settlements. The administrative centre, or district seat, is at Seri Manjung, while other towns here include Lumut and Sitiawan. Manjung district is bordered by Larut, Matang & Selama to the north, Kuala Kangsar District to the northeast, Perak Tengah to the east, and the Perak River separates it from Hilir Perak to the south.

The district of Manjung is perhaps best known as site of Pangkor Island. Manjung presently covers 1,074 square kilometers¹ and has a population of around 235,000 people (2015 estimate). The name Manjung may also refer to the municipality (majlis perbandaran) which has Dato Zamri bin Man as mayor.
