(GPS: 4.94986, 100.62944) is a small town as well as county (mukim) in the Kerian
district in northwestern Perak. It takes its name from Gunung Semanggol, a limestone mount in the area.
The mukim of Semanggol also includes Bukit Merah
. The town of Semanggol is also called Simpang Empat or Simpang Ampat, because it is located at the crossroad of Federal Road 1 (old trunk road) and State Route A100 (Jalan Gula).
