Slim River, Perak

Slim River (GPS: 3.82897, 101.40243) is a town in southern Perak. It is located within the Batang Padang District, and is the second biggest town in the area after Tanjung Malim.

Slim River is said to have been named after a British military officer named Slim. He went up the river thinking it was the Perak River, and as a result, the river was named after him. When a village was established on the river bank, it became known also as Slim River.
