Ling Nam Ku Miew, Taiping (17 February, 2018)




Ling Nam Ku Miew Temple (GPS: 4.8621, 100.74708) is a Chinese temple in Taiping, Perak. It is located on Jalan Taming Sari, a short walking distance from the Taiping Prison and Perak Museum. The temple has a squarish front façade with its front entrance flanked on either sides with round windows and grills in the form of stylised bamboo. The incense burner is located just off the left side of the entrance.

Ling Nam Ku Miew occupies a slightly elevated piece of land to the north of the Taiping Lake Gardens. It is said to date back to 1883, and was built for the veneration of the god of Fengshui. The present building dates from 1995, after the earlier structure was demolished and the temple rebuilt. The reconstruction did away with the ornate Chinese style architecture, replacing it with a rather plain design.
