Restoran Number One Claypot Rice (7 July, 2016)


Restoran Number One Claypot Rice (GPS: 3.0581, 101.46304) is a popular claypot rice restaurant in Klang, Selangor. We ended up here, during our recent visit to Klang, because the place we had originally intended to go for dinner (Klang Lek Bak Kut Teh) was already sold out for the day when we arrived there at 5:30pm. So we drove around Klang until we eventually arrived at this restaurant at Taman Berkeley, a housing estate on the fridge of Klang Town. Seeing from the road that it was doing good business, we parked out car and went inside.

The restaurant relied solely on its claypot rice, and was indeed quite busy. Most of the tables were taken but we were lucky to grab an empty one. As with most of the restaurants we've been, I saw that they hired non-Chinese as workers. The kitchen has a long line of stove with claypots. A foreigner worker waitress came to take our order. We ordered the claypot rice for two persons and the oily vegetables.

My wife and I enjoyed out claypot rice at this restaurant. We also enjoyed the lo han kuo drink - we were both thirsty and tired after spending the full day exploring the various places in Selangor. It was a nice meal and a good change from having bak kut teh in Klang.
