Bugis Junction (24 May, 2016)
Bugis Junction (GPS: 1.29952, 103.85569) is an integrated complex in Bugis, in the Downtown Core Planning Area of Singapore. It comprises a shopping mall, a department store, a hotel block and an office tower. The complex was completed in 1995. It is bordered by
Victoria Street,
North Bridge Road,
Rochor Road and
Middle Road.
Another tenant at Bugis Junction is presently the China-based retailer BHG (Beijing Hualian Group), which took over from Seiyu Group in 2007. The hotel at Bugis Junction is Inter-Continental Singapore.
The shopping mall of Bugis Junction is located between the BHG department store and Intercontinental Singapore. It is housed in the restored shophouses whose façades are retained while their interiors renovated. The mall encompasses covered pedestrianised streets including Hylam Street, Malay Street and Malabar Street. The most famous of the streets,
Bugis Street, remains unsheltered but renamed Bugis Square, and is linked to Hylam Street.
