Queenstown Travel Tips

Queenstown (Simplified Chinese: 女皇镇, Traditional Chinese: 女皇鎮, Pinyin: Nǚhuáng Zhèn; Tamil: குவீன்ஸ்டவுன்) is a planning area in the Central Region of Singapore. It covers 20.43 square kilometers.

Queenstown was named after Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her coronation in 1952. The area was first developed during that time by the Singapore Improvement Trust, and later on, in the 1960s, by the Housing and Development Board.

Queenstown is bordered by Bukit Timah in the north, Tanglin in the northeast, Bukit Merah in the east, the coast facing the Southern Islands in the south, and Clementi in the west. The planning area is divided into 15 neighbourhoods called subzones. Their names are Commonwealth, Dover, Ghim Moh, Holland Drive, Kent Ridge, Margaret Drive, Mei Chin, National University of Singapore, One North, Pasir Panjang 1, Pasir Panjang 2, Port, Queensway, Singapore Polytechnic and Tanglin Halt.
