The Singapore Flag was introduced when the island nation gained self-government in 1959. It comprises two horizontal halves. The top portion is red while the bottom is white. On the upper left corner of the red portion is a white crescent moon and five white stars forming a group.

The red of the flag symbolises universal brotherhood and equality, while the white symbolises purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents the young nation on the riese while the five stars represent democracy.

You can see the flags being displayed on flags especially during the Singapore National Day.
