Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle is a popular wanton noodle chain of hawker stalls in Singapore. Established in 1986, it has since sprouted many outlet stalls in different parts of the island state. As of September 2017, there are outlets at the Jalan Batu Food Centre, Marine Terrace, Old Airport Road, Lorong 7 Toa Payoh, Block 226B Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Block 347 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

I came across Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle for the first time at a coffee shop, 21 Old Airport Road. At that time, I didn't have a chance to try it, as I had already ordered the carrot cake from the same coffee shop that morning. Little would I know that the very next day, I would get a chance to try the wanton noodle of this chain, albeit at a different location.

My friend Evonne had taken me to the Kebun Baru Food Centre in Ang Mo Kio, and she decided to let me try the wanton noodle from two stalls, this one and another equally famous stall, the Hock Kee Wanton Noodle stall. As we were sitting next to the Hock Kee Wanton Noodle stall, I wasn't aware from which stall the other bowl of wanton noodle came until later on. This stall is located within the hawker centre at Block 226B, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 (GPS: 1.36673, 103.8395), not far from the Yuan Wei Handmade Soon Kueh, which is at Block 226F.

After trying both the Hock Kee Wanton Noodle sio kao and Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle sio kao, I have to say that where the soup is concerned, my preference is for the Tanjong Rhu sio kao. I find that the taste of the soup is more agreeable to me.
