Vevey is a small town in Vaud canton, Switzerland. Located on the north shore of Lake Geneva in the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district, Vevey is one of the best known resorts of the Swiss Riviera. It is situated between Lausanne and Villeneuve, with the River Veveyse to the west and the River Oyonnaz to the east.

Vevey is best known as the headquarters of the multinational corporation Nestlé, which was founded there in 1867. It was also where milk chocolate was invented in 1875. The town has been the home of a number of celebrities including Charlie Chaplin to Ernest Hemingway.
Vevey traces its history back to Roman tiles when it was known as Viviscus. It was described by Greek astronomer-philosopher Ptolemy, who called it Ouikos. The town was once the main port on Lake Geneva. During the 19th century, it was the first town in Vaud canton to experience industrialization.
