Everybody ought to know who Jesus is. I'm saying this not because I am a Christian. I'm saying it because it's so important.
Do you know who Jesus is? If you don't mind, let me tell you.
Jesus is the only son of God. Once upon a time, long, long ago, Jesus came to this earth for one purpose: to save us from death, and give us eternal life. When I say "death", I'm not talking about the physical death, but a spiritual one.
You see, the God who created us, the same God that created everything, wants us to be with him, in a new Heaven, for ever and ever. Unfortunately, we have sinned, and are now separated from God. So now there's an abyss between us and God. People have tried by all means to bridge this gap separating us from God, but it is impossible for any one of us to bridge it.
The only person who can do this, is one who was born without sin. And the only one born without sin was Jesus. God sent his son Jesus, to be born into this earth, to carry out the task of bridging the gap between us and God.
Fulfilling this task requires a huge sacrifice, which is, to die. Jesus - in human flesh - would not have carried it out. The very thought of facing this death made Jesus very anxious, and he prayed and prayed to God, that if there is another way, let Him not have to go through this terrible way. However, there is no other way to save us. So Jesus, in obediance to God His father, gave his life.
He died, but He rose again three days later. Now He has gone to be with His father, to prepare a place for us in Heaven.
If you want to be with God and Jesus in Heaven one day, after this physical life is over, all you need to do is to accept Jesus as your Saviour. Accept Him as the one who bridge the gap between us and God. And tell others the Good News, that if they want to be with God one day, they also can, by just accepting Jesus as their Saviour.
