Exuma is a district of Bahamas comprising a group of over 300 islands. The two main islands here are Great Exuma and Little Exuma. The two are linked by a bridge.

Great Exuma
Great Exuma measures 60 km (37 mi) in length. It is also the location of the main town in the area. Called, Georgetown, it was named after the British monarch King George III, when it was founded in 1793.

The Exuma Islands were inhabited by the Lucayan indigenous people until the 16th century, when they were captured and enslaved, leaving the islands uninhabited until the 18th century. Many of the earliest European settlers were British Loyalists who fled mainland America following the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783). The most prominent among them was Lord John Rolle, who upon his death in 1835 bestowed all his holdings on Exuma to his slaves. In his honor, they named many places in Great Exuma after him, among them Rolleville and Rolletown.

As with most of the islands in the Bahamas, the Exuma Islands depend heavily on tourism for its revenue. The islands are popular for water activities such as yachting, sailing and diving.

Crab Cay
Crab Cay is an islet in Elizabeth Harbor. It is about a mile to the southeast of Georgetown, and is one of the hundreds of islets or cays in the Exuma archipelago. It has a beach called Crab Beach and a small village called Harour Village.
