Connecticut is a state in the New England region, on the north-eastern part of the United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts to the north, Rhode Island to the east, New York to the west and south. Much of the populated areas of Connecticut are within New York City's metropolitan area, which is commonly known as the Tri-State Region.

Connecticut covers an area of 5,543 square miles (14,356 sq km). Its capital is Hartford while its biggest city is Bridgeport. Connecticut was the 29th most populous state, but it terms of size, it ranks 48th, thus making it the 4th most densely populated state in the country.

Connecticut has charming countryside as well as is rich in history. There are many outstanding museums in its major cities. Those looking for a different type of enjoyment will delight in two casinos located in the state.

Travel to Connecticut

You can go to Connecticut by plan, train, ferry or by road. The biggest airport in Connecticut is the Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Windsor Locks. Budget travelers can fly Southwest Air to Bradley.

Amtrak trains traveling between Penn Station in New York City and South Station in Boston make stops in cities in Connecticut. You can also take buses from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City to destinations in Connecticut.
