The tallest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park is Longs Peak, at 14,259 ft (4,346 m). It is also the only peak in the national park to exceed 14,000 ft. The park has numerous streams and some 150 lakes. Hiking trails totaling 359 miles (578 km) allows visitors to fully explore the park.

Due to its different elevation, Rocky Mountain National Park has a variety of vegetation. In the lowest parts you find montane forests and grassland. Higher up are different types of pine forest, with ponderosa pine preferring the drier areas while douglas fir at higher elevation. Above 9,000 feet (2,700 m) the montane forest graduates to subalpine forest with conifers such as Engelmann Spruce and Supalpine Fir. Above 11,500 feet, the terrain is one of alpine tundra.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
