Kepong, Selangor

Kepong (GPS: 3.21957, 101.6231) is a small town in Selangor. As with many towns that were already in existence before the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur was created, the town of Kepong today straddles the Kuala Lumpur border, with Kepong, Kuala Lumpur on the other side of the largely disregarded border. The Selangor Kepong is in Gombak District and is largely forested. This is where you find the forest park for the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). Next to FRIM is another forest park, Taman Botani Kepong, which is still in the process of construction.
