Enid Blyton, The Biography takes us into the world of one of the most prolific children's book authors. I grew up on Enid Blyton story books. My consumption of Blyton's tales began from the earliest time that I could read, with stories of pixies and elves. From there, I "graduated" to reading the Find Outers.

I could chart the level of my English from how well I could read her books. I remember that in Standard Two, there was a book fair at my school. There, I bought my first copy of the Famous Five adventure book. I couldn't read it. The English was too difficult for me. At the same time, there were other Enid Blyton books that were easier to read, so it was like climbing a ladder for me.

As an adult, I often wondered who is this person, Enid Blyton. You would forgive me to think that it is actually a man, but I learned before leaving primary school that Enid Blyton is actually a woman, and that she also went by the name of Darrell Waters.

This biography doesn't present Enid Blyton in the most flattering light, but I believe this is the accurate picture of the author, a child-like, often difficult to get along person. I have had this book since the mid-1990s, about eighteen years already, as I have been very curious about the author who penned a large part of my childhood literature.
