When China Rules the World is a brick of a book that I added to My Little Bookshelf yesterday. I was at the bookstore yesterday, picked it up, started reading and as it turned out, the book was unputdownable. It provides a most fascinating insight into China, past, present and raging into the future.

I didn't actually notice the blurb on the cover until I have started reading. So I didn't need the blurb to be sold on it. Nevertheless it says, "By far the best book on China to have been published in many years." I am in full agreement.

The title was a bit misleading to me. When I picked up the book, I thought it is about some period in history when China ruled the world. On second thought, the title was right, for it uses the present tense. It is talking about the future, when China is going to reign over the rest of the world, and the world had better be prepared to understand what makes this might giant tick.

To me, this China-filled future is like a comet plummeting down towards us. There is nothing we can do to prevent it from happening. So grin and get used to it.
