Cambrils is a seaside town on the coast in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. It covers 34.76 sq km (13.42 sq mi) and has a population of 32,000 people.

Human habitation in Cambrils goes back to prehistoric times. Under Roman rule, a number of villas was built here, as confirmed by archaeological evidence. One of the major events in the town's history was the Guerra del Segadors or "War of Reapers", when Cambrils became the battle site between Catalonia and King Philip IV of Spain. Although the locals were eventually defeated, they managed to withstand a siege of three days. This is now commemorated by a yearly ceremony at the Plaça del Setge, or "siege square".

In the past few decades Cambrils developed a number of industries such as petrochemical and services. As with elsewhere in Spain, tourism is not neglected. The town has a number of sights worth visiting, as listed out on this page.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
