Rhine Falls (German: Rheinfall) is the largest plain waterfall in Europe. It is located in Schaffhausen canton in northern Switzerland, between the towns of Neuhausen am Rheinfall on the north bank of the Rhine and Laufen-Uhwiesen on the south.

Rhine Falls is 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high. An average of 700 cubic meter of water flows through it every second in winter. This goes down to 250 cubic meter per second in winter.

Visitors to the area have several options to view the waterfalls. There are viewing platforms on both sides of the Rhine. Close to the falls is Schlösschen W&oum;rth, a charming little castle built over the river. On the opposite bank is Schloss Laufen, another castle offering views of the waterfall. In addition, you can also take tourist boats to view the falls from the river.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
