Wolverhampton is the 13th most populous city in England. It is located in West Midlands, England, and has a population of about 250,000 people. The city is also nicknamed Wolves. It was a market town which during the Industrial Revolution became a major industrial centre. Today the city is still an industrial centre in West Midlands with japanned ware, steel jewellery and the aerospace industry being the big employers.

Although the majority of the buildings in the city centre of Wolverhampton date from the turn of the 20th century, its oldest building - the St Peter's Church - dates to the 13th century, though largely refurbished during the 15th.

Wolverhampton experiences a temperate climate. The warmest month is July, when temperate reaches 21°C (70°F) while the coldest months are January and February, when temperature dips to 1°C. Rainfall is quite evenly spread out throughout the year.

The main way to reach Wolverhampton is to take the train. There are regular services from London. Wolverhampton's New Street Railway Station is close to the city centre and within walking distance of its bus station.
