Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Kuala LumpurJalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Kuala Lumpur (8 February, 2006)

Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin is a road in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Due to the renaming of roads in the city, there are now two fragmented portions to Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. The northern portion, relatively short, runs roughly north-south, connecting with Jalan Raja in the north, and merging with Jalan Kinabalu in the south. The road is probably best recognised as being beside the Dayabumi complex. The southern portion of Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, also relatively short, runs from the Jalan Kinabalu roundabout to Jalan Damansara.

Jalan Sultan Hishammuddin was named after al-Marhum Tuanku Hishamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Alauddin Sulaiman Shah (1898-1960), who was the Sultan of Selangor from 1938 to 1942 and 1945 to 1960. He was also installed as the second Yang di-Pertuan Agong, reigning from 14 April to 1 September, 1960, when he passed away.

Jalan Sultan Hishammuddin was originally known as Gombak Road. It later became part of Damansara Road, the precursor of present-day Jalan Damansara, before Jalan Damansara was fragmented into various parts over different periods. This section of Damansara Road was first renamed as Victory Avenue and then Jalan Victory before becoming known as Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. Jalan Sultan Hushamuddin itself was broken into two parts when the central portion became part of Jalan Kinabalu.
